The busy week continues today as were off to Haydock with Gran Maestro who runs in the 5:10

After Gran Maestro’s fantastic Summer hurdle win at Market Rasen last time out were having another spin on the flat to keep him ticking over. Granny is a horse that get’s restless quickly and needs to race every month when he’s in full training.

Gran Maestro should have picked up a race on the level by now since we purchased him, the horse keeps running well but is a far superior hurdler and finds the flat a bit boring. He doesn’t travel with the same conviction with no hurdles to jump and is bit lazy on and off the bridle. Saying that though he’s won twice at Haydock before but in 0-70’s today’s race is a 0-80.

Trip and ground look ideal whilst hopefully the horse remains in good form. I’m sure he’ll run his normal game race but this would require a career best flat effort, if he could finish in the top 4 that would be grand.

We sold our 3 time winning mare Dino Mite at the Doncaster DBS sales yesterday, Dino will be going to America to continue her career over hurdles and be running in the summer of 2016. She’s been a great buy for us, won £15,000 in prize money and we sold her for more money than her purchase price, that's somthing that rarely happens in this game.

Dino ran for the best part of a year and she didn't cost us a penny, very few horses do that. She’s been excellently trained by Jamie Snowden and ridden brilliant by Michael Nolan.

We’ll now look for a replacement and start the process again.
