A super day of racing up and down the country with some classy horses running. Over in Ireland, the brilliant Facile Vega runs at Fairyhouse whilst Honeysuckle makes her seasonal debut tomorrow at the same meeting.

It will be interesting to see how Ahoy Senor runs in the 1:30 at Aintree. His run at Wetherby was awful, but at times, he’s looked a class act and a possible Gold Cup horse. Unbeaten at Aintree, if you can forgive his seasonal debut effort, odds of 7-4 is fair but he comes with a lot of risks and maybe has a few issues.

The Beacher Chase at 2:05, always makes great viewing.

Priced at 13-2, with 6 places on offer, Ashtown Lad looks to have been laid out for this. He didn’t get home in the Scottish National but ran very well for a long way. Third over hurdles behind Remastered on first run of the season, that form has worked out very well and I dare say was just a prep for today.

With a clear round of jumping, Ashtown Lad looks to have a huge chance. Shop around for the 6 places on offer, I think he'll go very close, I'm sweet on his chances.

I mentioned Walking On Air on here last week but he was a none runner due to the ground. Walking On Air tries again today, 3:15 Aintree. He’s better than his rating but this looks a lot harder than the race last week.

The way things are going in the World Cup, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a shock winner or at least a shock finalist.

The Netherlands have looked shaky imo and will be in for a fight this evening against the USA who will be tough to break down and could look to hit on the counter, then put men behind the ball.

Odds of 2-1 on the USA getting through this game look fair. They can be backed at 4-1 to win in 90 mins but 2-1 to qualify looks worth taking for a bit of fun.
