Although it’s been a quite week so far on the news page plenty of work has been going on behind the scenes at Value Racing Club. The DBS Doncaster horses in training sales starts today and continues until end of play Thursday, I’ve been busy looking through the sales for the past two weeks helping a few people whilst also looking for any potential new recruits for VRC.

I’m going on Thursday as keen to look at a few ex flat horses that have nice profiles for the jumping game. The markets are very strong at the moment whilst the horses in question were well above average on the flat so it likely we’ll get priced out but if you’re not there you can’t win.

I've Not had chance to look at the racing so far this week but I notice trainer Jim Best looks like he’s trying to land one of his gambles in the 3:10 at Southwell.

Enter two horses in the same race with A P McCoy booked to ride the more obvious one, "Into The Wind" who would have been the  race favourite. The old trick of pulling the shorter priced horse out and the money arriving for the outsider has happened again, A P McCoy has now switched to Saint Helena.

Saint Helena has been backed like defect is out of the question but has shown nothing so far over hurdles, it was a mid 70 rated type on the flat though so clearly has an engine.

Today looks the day for Saint Helena however To The Sky for our syndicate trainer Jamie Snowden will be looking to spoil the party.
