I’ve always found Goodwood tough from a punting point of view as mentioned on Tuesday. Thankfully the strong word I had for Expert Eye was correct, he looks a horse of huge ability and must be a live contender for the 2000gns. It was close to being a very good day, Rebel Streak got chinned in a photo finish at 5-1.

The Glorious Goodwood meeting always has big priced winners over the week. Throw in the awful conditions seen yesterday and heavy ground, punting becomes almost impossible. The results will continue to be all over the place. If you wanted to throw a few quid on something today, Dubka in the 2:25 should run a fair race at nice odds, she’ll love conditions.

There are more important things happening this afternoon anyhow as we have a runner at Stratford. Milrow lines up in the 2:00. Milrow has been a great buy for his owners, winning twice, placing numerous times and bringing home 12k in prize money.

We run Milrow in a seller.

The reason for this, Milrow is rated 127 over hurdles and that’s just a bit high. He’ll win again when coming down the handicap but these things take time. Running in a seller gives Milrow the best chance of getting his head in front. If he’s sold or bought after the race it’s very much a case of job done for the syndicate. We can then re-stock and start the fun again.

Dove Mountain will be a big danger, we’ll see how we get on.
