We have two runners this afternoon at Sedgefield. West Of The Edge in the 2:35 & Audacious Plan in the Durham National at 3:10.

West Of The Edge makes his seasonal debut. We start over hurdles rather than chasing, it’s a nice way to blow the cobwebs away. WOTE is very well but the going will be a worry for him, he’s never finished in the first 3 on good ground. West Of The Edge loves it when he’s hoof deep in mud.

The trip will be on the sharp side but it's a nice starting point for the season ahead. Hopefully he’ll be ok on the ground and run a fair race. Our sponsored jockey Charlie Hammond rides.

Audacious Plan takes his chance in the Durham National at 3:10. This year’s renewal looks good as I’ve seen for recent years, it’s a cracking race. AP has been a great buy for us, just £8500 at the sales. We hoped we could turn this horse around and get him back to his classy form of a few years ago.

We’re not totally sure Audacious Plan will stay 3m5 miles but think he has a chance of doing so. It’s worth finding out in such a prestigious race with good prize money on offer. Top jockey Brian Hughes takes the ride.
