Happy New Year, I hope you had a great evening if seeing in 2016.

We have our first runner of the year this afternoon, Ebony Express who runs in the 3:35 at Sandown.

Ebony Express ran flat last time out and scoped dirty, this was at a time the yard was quite and a few other horses had run the same type of race. Since then Dr Newland’s runners have picked up and won races, however a few horses that Richard thought was over the virus have run again and finished pulled up.

Ebony Express seems fine at home, his work is good and he looks great but that was the case going into his last outing. How he’ll run today I’m not quite sure but we’re obviously hoping he’s over the virus and takes a step forward.

If he is back to his best there’s no reason to think why he couldn’t get involved but this outing might also bring him on a little if not fully recovered.
