I’ll take backing a winner at Goodwood and gratefully take finishing the meeting with a profit. Muthmir was a nice winner for us at 11-2 yesterday and showed he’s an animal that needs to be taken seriously in the sprinting division.
The drop to five furlongs did the trick whilst it was pleasing to see jockey Paul Hanagan keep things simple and allow the horse to stride out over the shorter distance. The Nunthorpe is the next target for Muthmir, he should have every chance now that connections have worked him out.
Today’s card is impossible at Goodwood, huge amounts of runners in big handicaps, I’m leaving it well alone.
As for the racing elsewhere I can’t find anything that takes the eye so it’s a watching brief for me this afternoon.
