We have a runner at Stratford this afternoon, Sioux Chieftain takes his chance in the 3:55.

This is Sioux Chieftain’s first outing since he won on debut for us at Wetherby, bizarrely one year today. Unfortunately, Gary as we call him had a setback a few weeks after Wetherby, the horse injured his pelvis, same as Douvan.

We’ve given Sioux Chieftain plenty of time and he seems none the worse, Gary is enthusiastic as ever.

Everything else in todays race is fit, Sioux Chieftain has done plenty of work but will come on for the outing and will likely be rusty. We’ll take our time with Sioux Chieftain and give him a couple of runs to get his eye back in.

As for the rest of the days racing, we were hoping to have Mountain Rescue make his seasonal appearance in the valuable Spring Mile at Doncaster, unfortunately he missed out on a run by 3. His rating of 89 would have got him in the race normally. It’s frustrating when you see other trainers run multiple horses but there’s no rules against that.

I’ve not had chance to go through the cards in detail but thought Stormy Antarctic was interesting in the 3:00 at Doncaster. Stormy Antarctic has run well in group races whilst goes best fresh. The Ed Walker yard are in great form and the cut in the ground will suit Stormy Antarctic.

Earlier this week we broke the bank and purchased a unnamed 2yo colt by Frankel that's been flying up the Newmarket gallops. He’ll make his debut in a few weeks and is already working upsides proven Group horses. He'll be aimed at the 2000gns. I think we're going to call him VRC.
