Nottingham today with Kotyonok who will be our only runner of the week.

Koty makes his racecourse debut. Unraced flat horses isn't normally a path we go down, but with knowing the family so well and able to secure him for just £3,200, it was impossible not to have a go.

The owners named Kotyonok, it means kitten in Russian and follows the family naming. Koty is a half brother to Nikolayeva and Nastasiya who we already own, hence him been an interest.

This will be a big learning curve for Kotyonok, he hasn't had an away day of any kind and will likely be green as grass. His work at home is ok and suggests he has a future as a racehorse. He'll likely want a good deal further, though.

We are in good company with many of the top Newmarket trainers running horses with half of them costing upwards of 100,000gns. A learning curve for us and horse, if we can beat any of the runners home, that will have been a fair effort.
