It’s an important day of racing this afternoon for many owners with Cheltenham Festival hopes. From a personal point of view, I’ll be hoping, Angels Breath 3:00 Kempton and Dickie Diver 2:30 Chepstow both win in good style then head to the festival.

I mentioned each horse on here before they ran and suggested backing for the, Supreme Hurdle 33-1 and Albert Bartlett 25-1 respectively.

The above odds have long gone, hopefully all will go according to plan later today and we have two live chances at grand prices. Dickie Diver is a future Gold Cup horse, the further he goes the better he’ll be.

We have one runner today in the big race at Newcastle, The £80,000 Eider Chase. West Of The Edge was 2nd in this last year and unlucky to run into Baywing who runs again today. The 3rd placed horse was a huge 16 lengths further back.

Whatever the result this afternoon, this will be WOTE final race, he’s not getting any younger and had a brilliant career. Father time is catching up with him now, we’ll find him a forever home after today’s run.

Westy has been unlucky not to land a big one, ground conditions have gone against him numerous times in the build up to big races. It’s the same again today, WOTE must have heavy ground but it’s near good and the race won’t be a big stamina test.

We’ll give it a go though and hope West Of The Edge has one final effort in him.

Burrows Edge needs a big run if he’s going to make Cheltenham, the Nicky Henderson trained horses runs in the 1:15 at Kempton. Burrows Edge holds entries for the Martin Pipe and Coral Cup but needs a win to be guaranteed a run. He won’t lack for fitness today and will be given the kitchen sink by Nico de Boinville. Odds of 7-2 look fair in a hot race.
