We pulled Sampers Seven out of her race at York on Wednesday due to the ground. Plenty of rain came down which was frustrating, but with the backup option of trying again this afternoon in the 5:10, it made sense.

Thursday saw York in glorious sunshine but that was undone yesterday with more heavy showers. The forecast is the same today. If we had further options in the next couple of weeks, Sampers Seven wouldn’t run today. However, we don’t so we’ll give it a go.

It’s already been a very good season with Sampers Seven, if she doesn’t give her running on the ground at least we’ve learnt something.

The Ebor is the big race of the day, no real thoughts on the race apart from I wouldn’t be surprised if Pablo Escobarr improved again for the step up in trip. Odds of 9-1 look ok with five places on offer.

The 2:25 at York, Melrose Handicap looks a very good race. I’ve backed a couple in this. Favorite Moon & Arthurian Fable EW at a odds of 16-1.

Favorite Moon has an obvious chance but Arthurian Fable was impressive on his first try over this trip last time out and looks unexposed. I'm told this race has been the plan all season.

Sinjaari would be my last pick at York in the 4:40.
